چکیده
The last decade has witnessed the increasing implementation of wireless network in large number of university campuses. Although wireless network has promised such benefits as flexibility, low cost, and expandability, there is a lack of assessment on the student demand of wireless learning environment from the perspective of non-users. This study draws on the change management mechanism to empirically investigate salient factors determining the non-users’ intention to adopt and use campus wireless network. Two hundred and eleven survey responses were collected at a US-based Hispanic serving university. The empirical results provide insightful suggestions to institutions and universities to better improve students’ acceptance and enhance the usability and effectiveness of campus wireless

The wireless communication with delivering variety of services to users is growing rapidly in recent years. The third generation of cellular networks (3G), and local wireless networks (WLAN) are the two widely used technologies in wireless networks. 3G networks have the capability of covering a vast area; while, WLAN networks provide higher transmission rates with less coverage. Since the two n...

This paper presents a twofold view of campus-wide wireless networks: Users and network managers. Providing an easy network experience to the user while keeping the wireless network secure and manageable is a key issue. This paper presents the description of the vendor-independent approach to a secure wireless local area network being implemented on this university campus. User configuration is ...
متن کاملThe Shaman Automatic 802.11 Wireless Diagnosis System
In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of an automated 802.11 wireless network diagnostic system called Shaman. Since the end-to-end performance of user traffic is some combination of factors across all network layers, Shaman incorporates comprehensive, cross-layer models of 802.11 network behavior and performance. These models include broadband interference at the physical la...
